After visiting the studio of Viktor Verhovod. I'll tell you,
that even for me, well-traveled, having visited the studios of many artists, I
was left with an indelible impression. It’s not even a studio, but a
house of the artists, who does not separate his family and social life from his
creative endeavor. His home is an adobe, and a workshop, and a reception for
guests and a place to rest. However, judging by the amount of artwork, Viktor
does not have a lot of time to rest.
Here everything is interwoven into one - family photographs, books, musical
instruments, fired and unfired sculptures, paintings, rusty pieces of iron,
which you probably would not have paid attention to if you have seen them laying around
on the road. Here everything becomes meaningful. Every object has its own name
and a place. One begins to understand, yes this is monkey wrench, rusty and
ruined, adjustable… but how this, becomes, beautiful, if it is placed next to a
similar red from rust chain saw blade!
This atmosphere is a place where amazing by their meaning
compositions are born. Here, for example, a boat. In the boat grow three trees
and three people are in it. One person plants his tree, the second cuts it
down, the third is just sitting by the hemp of a cut down tree on which sprouts
a new shoot ... There is something to think about.
It seems that the symbol of the boat
has a special meaning for Viktor. It appears too often in his
compositions. Here is someone’s head. On it stands a person, who is
holding a boat on his shoulders. What is the meaning of this? “In a similar way
we often take upon ourselves unnecessary tasks and drag them, without knowing
where and why ” - explains the author.
This is a masterpiece of an idea. The simplicity and originality. Anvil
with wings. How can he come up with such an idea! This is not just a clay anvil
that is well made by a cast. This is sculpture brought to amazing realism.
There is no doubt that it's heavy, cast-iron. The materialism is very well
transmitted. Well, what can I say, master!
Here is a profile of an angel, but upon closer inspection,
you see that the angel has only one wing. If you look at the sculpture from
another side, we just see a young women… But no this is not it. From one side
you see a young women, sitting on a rock, but if you come closer and look this
women is transformed into an angel. This often happens in life.
And here is just a pillow... stone… crumpled, the same one
every one of us sees every morning, but in the hands of an artist it became a
beautiful, harmonious and deserving of a pedestal.
Dear Friends, we often do not value those people, which we
meet every day. It seems to us, that they are simple and accessible, and
that they will always be close to us. Artist – creator. He is like a god
and his creation is unique. Keep in mind that any artwork of this master can
decorate your house. Do not hesitate to ask about the price of his artwork, and
it’s quite possible that you can decorate your house with his sculptures.
